Born May 30th 1991, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. P. Blackk has been MC’ing, entertaining, and has had an interest in art since the tender age of 8. By the time he was 10 it became too stressful and he called it quits. He claimed, “It was a fad” and that he “grew out of it.” Years passed, and on his 13th birthday his father bought him a karaoke machine, he then started to rap… again.

From recording on cassette tapes in his bedroom and giving it to his brother; to eventually burning CD’s and giving it out to peers at school, P. Blackk has made music that has been brutal in its honesty and that’s authentic, to say the least. In being praised for his honesty he feels like he doesn’t have a choice to do anything but be honest. In order to fully understand the kind of music P. Blackk makes you’d have to fully understand him. Which is why there isn’t a category that could properly define him or his sound. He’s still growing. He draws inspiration from a number of artists and his surroundings. Now if there were one person you would want to thank for his music other than him, it would be his brother. When he writes he keeps his brother in mind, & thinks about how he would feel about what he’s writing. P has been compared to numerous artists but he doesn’t really like that though. Although he does understand that it’s necessary.

At the age of 20 P. Blackk has already made a name for himself in his hometown, Columbus, OH. His first project ‘Chicken N’ Waffles,’ has already been proven a milestone in his career. ‘Chicken N’ Waffles’ has been described as “one of the smartest, most well-rounded rap releases in recent memory.” P wanted his debut project to show off his versatility because he likes to experiment with music. “I put ‘Welcome To The Doldrums’ on there so that folks wouldn’t be surprised if I was to sing on a track or to do a project like that down the line. Same with ‘Swanky,’ you shouldn’t be surprised when you hear a P. Blackk song that’s out of what ‘lane’ you might classify me in.” It’ll only be a matter of time until the world gets familiar with P. Blackk’s music.
